New Thought Chicago / Peace Initiatives

New Thought Chicago is in the activity of Conscious Change. Building a culture of peace and non-violence demands the synergistic movement of thought and action; ideas and finance, possibility through achievement. A new culture of peace is already happening; we are merely here to bring it into view.

American Mystic Joel Goldsmith has written, "…peace is not here on earth, until you bring it." At NTC we believe consciousness creates our world, our experience. To build a culture of peace there needs to be a new activism for peace consciousness building. The experiences of life are built one thought at a time: instill thoughts of peace by exemplifying it as an experience in possibility.

New Thought Chicago has either Sponsored, Presented and/or has Organized the following over the past few years,

Peace Building Projects:

  • Peace On Earth Film Festival, a secular project, has been transferred to Transcendence Global Media, a nondenominational Illinois Not-for-Profit corporation. The Board and Members of New Thought Chicago are proud to have begun a Chicago tradition by presenting the First Peace On Earth Film Festival on Labor Day Weekend 2008, at the newly renovated Victory Gardens Biograph Theatre. We are pleased to have contributed to building the POEFF into an international festival, a hallmark for peace, nonviolence, social justice and an eco-balanced world.

  • Faith-Based-Practices Study on Reduction of Crime in Chicago (June 2 - July 14, 2008) In cooperation with Association for Global New Thought AGNT A Season for Peace and Nonviolence, NTC is working with other faith-based organizations and individuals to support and augment current efforts to reduce crime and make our neighborhoods safer, through the power of "Faith-Based-Practices".

  • Restorative Justice In Action was hosted by Judge Sophia H. Hall. This Cable Access TV Show highlights the work of members of the City Wide Restorative Justice Committee of Greater Chicago, exemplifying a new consciousness of Best Practices in the area of justice, reflecting a Chicago culture in the building of peace, nonviolence and social justice, cooperation and restoration.

  • RestorativeJusticeInAction.com (in final stages of completion) will reveal to America and the world a new consciousness of Best Practices in the area of justice, by highlighting through video clips, the Guests of Restorative Justice in Action CAN-TV Show, and provide links and information to support and encourage such practices across the globe. .
