Peace on Earth Film Festival is one of only two film festivals (over 3,000 worldwide) exclusive to the Genre of Peace and Nonviolence.
Why has New Thought Chicago taken on this adventure? Because New Thought Chicago is all about consciousness changing, one thought at a time.

Motion pictures over the century have provided entertainment, escape and a means to inform and educate. Movies not only reflect society and its changing face, they have also been on the vanguard of trendsetting and cultural change since their inception. Films are a reflection of our culture, and each a likeness of the other.

Although Hollywood continues to create movies of depth, humor, passion and pathos, the predominance of graphic violence has far exceeded civil responsibility.

Independent Filmmakers all over the world are creating fabulous movies and videos in all categories, spanning the current ratings systems which depict alternatives to violence.

Peace on Earth Film Festival (POEFF) intends to share alternatives to violence by setting the tone for cultural change as an entertainment, creating a vortex for peace culture building in the following ways:
  1. Provide outlet and exhibition to filmmakers in the genre of peace and non-violence.
  2. Provide Chicagoans and the world, quality films and videos promoting peace and non-violence.
  3. Provide a venue where all people can see entertainment does not necessitate violence.
  4. Supply encouragement to participating filmmakers through cash awards to continue in the field of peace and non-violence filmmaking.

The POEFF is not intended to rally anti-war sentiments; its focus: to present realistic alternatives, setting the tone for a culture of peace through possibilities for change.
